Blurb: Myron’s task is easy enough on the surface: locate the runaway Prince Tamsen and bring him home. But Tamsen is not merely a talented wizard, he’s an exceptionally stubborn one, and dozens of others have already failed at the task. When he manages to find the cabin where Tamsen is hiding, Myron isn’t foolish enough to mistake the find for a victory.

Instead of attempting to drag the prince home by force, Myron tries a different tact: patience. He might not be able to best Tamsen magically or physically, but Myron can certainly out-stubborn him. He’s nothing if not used to doing what other people say he can’t.

But neither prince nor soldier expected stubbornness to be the crack in armor they’ve both become adept at wearing…

Honorary Blogger Keira Andrews: Going Over the Rainbow with David and Isaac + Giveaway!

Going Over the Rainbow with David and Isaac

by Keira Andrews

In A Clean Break, the sequel to A Forbidden Rumspringa, young Amish men David and Isaac have left their families and entire way of life to be together. After journeying across the country to San Francisco to live with Isaac’s older brother, they are thrust into a new, confusing world.

One morning while I was writing this book, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” came up on my iPod. I hadn’t really been listening to the songs before it, and had been using the music as white noise since I was visiting my parents and needed to block out the distraction of my dad puttering around complaining about the accuracy (or lack thereof) of the forecast. (Fingers crossed I haven’t inherited the gene that causes an obsession with weather in retirement!)

It was Jason Castro’s cover of the Wizard of Oz classic that came on my iPod, and as I listened it struck me that in leaving behind their plain Amish lives—with no technology or luxury—David and Isaac were going on a similar journey to Dorothy. Moving from their rural Minnesota Amish settlement to vibrant and Technicolor San Francisco isn’t easy, and David in particular struggles with the culture shock. They are definitely not in Kansas anymore!

The line from the song that struck me most that morning was “And the dreams that you dare to dream/Really do come true.” To yearn for a different life—and to be different themselves—is quite daring when you grow up in a strict Amish community where obedience is valued above all else. But Isaac and David’s love for each other gives them the strength to break free and create a new life for themselves. It isn’t easy, but one day they’ll wake up where the clouds are far behind them. There’ll just be plenty of angst along the way first!

About A Clean Break

a clean break-200-300They’ve escaped to the outside world—but can they really be free?

David and Isaac have found happiness in each other’s arms. In faraway San Francisco, Isaac’s brother Aaron helps them explore confusing “English” life and move beyond the looming shadow of their Amish roots. For the first time, David and Isaac can be openly gay, yet they struggle to reconcile their sexuality with their faith. At least they don’t have to hide their relationship, which should make everything easier. Right?

But while Isaac thrives at school and makes new friends, David wrestles to come to terms with the reality of the outside world. Haunted by guilt at leaving his mother and sisters behind in Zebulon, he’s overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the city as he works to get his carpentry business off the ground.

While David and Isaac finally sleep side by side each night, fear and insecurity could drive them miles apart.

A Very Holland Valentine by Toni Griffin + Exclusive Excerpt & Giveaway!

Blogger_Exclusive Excerpt

An Exclusive Excerpt from A Very Holland Valentine

by Toni Griffin

Jason smiled as he quietly closed the bedroom door behind him. William was out like a light. His little boy slept like the dead, and with all the construction in their home, Jason had never been more thankful. He couldn’t even imagine how he would have coped if William had woken at every little noise that was made during the day. Night wasn’t an issue, it was just noisy during the day while everyone was here working.

Thankfully the majority of the large construction had already taken place. Now they were so close to finishing Jason could almost taste it. Another week, Alex had told him. One more week and he would be able to get his family and his home back. Jason missed his best friend, Brian.

Jason hated having so many strangers coming and going inside his home, especially with his son here. Jason had had no idea what it felt like to have such overwhelming feelings of protectiveness for another being until he became a parent.

Yes, he had Alex, but his mate was an Alpha and well capable of taking care of himself. Jason doubted there was anything he could do to protect the man that he couldn’t do faster or better. He didn’t mind; it came part and parcel of being mated to the Alpha. On the other hand, while William might grow up to be the pack’s next Alpha, right now he was a defenceless little cub.

Some of the workers Jason was acquainted with as they were pack, but unfortunately, not everyone was. And even though those people had been steadily coming in and out of his house for the last several months, it didn’t mean he’d gotten to know them. Some of the men seemed nice enough, but others gave him the downright creeps.

If Brian were around, he knew his friend would make him feel better. He missed the others as well, but Brian had been his friend since high school and he missed him most. He even missed the two-year-old terrors Samuel and Dylan. Brian had told him on the phone not long after they’d moved in to Maryanne and Joe’s place that the boys were giving their grandma a run for her money.

Jason couldn’t wait to see what William would be like at that age. He hoped he wouldn’t be quite as bad as the twins. The problem with the boys was they each had the other egging them on. Jason didn’t know how Brian did it most days. He would be utterly exhausted running around after two of them. He usually was by the end of the day anyway and all he had was five-month-old William.

Alex was amazing with his son. Jason had never seen such a large and imposing man turn to complete and utter goo before. Yes, Alex had curbed a great deal of his Alpha instincts around Jason, especially considering the circumstances they met under, but when Alex held his son in his arms, everything about him softened.

All the problems and demands on the day seemed to drain right out of the bigger man. His body relaxed completely and this serene expression came over his face. Jason loved it.

“Excellent Mr. Sherwood.”
Mickey slid out of his chair, grinning. With this new commercial, he was hoping to increase sales for his company. So far everything was a success in his world, except his love life. Phfft, what else is new? Flicking on his phone he checked his messages. He had stopped by the studio to film the commercial before heading to the docks. A customs official, a Mr. Hugh Brannough, was cocking up the shipment of some of their badly needed merchandize. Well Mr. Brannough, I’m coming for you!
A shiver suddenly raced down Hugh’s spine, as he sat at his desk at the docks. I wonder what the hell that was about? Shrugging, he went back to work…
